Howdy! I’m Sami Jo

Sami Jo Heitsch Howdy! My name is Sami Jo Heitsch! I am a senior at the University of Wyoming pursing my Bachelor of Science in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. I am studying Agriculture Communications with a double minor in Marketing Communications and Agriculture Economics. I am a third-generation minister’s daughter and in 1999 the good Lord brought our family to the beautiful state of Wyoming. I graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 2010 and completed my associate degree at Laramie County Community College (LCCC) in Cheyenne. During my time at LCCC I served as the Cheyenne Frontier Days Lady in Waiting and Miss Frontier.

The purpose of this blog is to share my journey exploring the rapidly changing industry of media in the course Online Journalism (COJO 3530). I love interacting on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Vine, Instagram, and exploring new applications that are created on a daily basis. Online journalism is an industry that has grown exponentially over the past few years, and I am looking forward to documenting what I learn from this class!

I enjoy spending time with loved ones, working out, and riding my 7-year-old quarter horse named Roundup. I plan to pursue becoming a television personality and producer. Ten years from now I plan to start my own business motivational speaking on behalf of juvenile diabetics, and spreading my favorite message: “Let Your Light Shine!”

I hope you enjoy my blog and if you want to explore more information about me, check out my resume!
